Tuscany
Wedding photographer and films in the heart of Tuscany
Tuscany has a light unlike anywhere else in the world: golden on the hills of Chianti, soft on the frescoes of a Renaissance villa, warm on the stone of a medieval castle at sunset. For many years it has been the heart of our work. Cinemotions Films is an award-winning wedding videographer and photographer based in Rome, documenting bespoke destination weddings in Florence, Siena and throughout the countryside of Tuscany.
Our couples come from the United States, the United Kingdom and all over the world, and they choose Tuscany for its beauty, its hospitality and its timeless elegance. We tell their stories with discretion, care and a cinematic eye.

The venues
Our wedding venues in Tuscany
Over the years we have had the privilege of filming and photographing weddings in some of the most extraordinary venues in Tuscany:
- Castello di Celsa, a castle surrounded by formal gardens in the Sienese countryside
- Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte, a frescoed Medici villa in the hills just outside Florence (see our Villa Corsini wedding guide)
- Borgo di Castelvecchio, a romantic hamlet near Siena
- Siena and its countryside, for al fresco celebrations in the golden autumn light
- Florence, for elegant welcome dinners in the heart of the Renaissance
Each venue has its own character, its own light and its own rhythm. Knowing them allows us to plan every moment with you and your wedding planner, so that nothing is left to chance.
Our film of Brooke & Ryan’s wedding at Villa La Palagina, among the vineyards of the Valdarno, was featured on Style Me Pretty, where you can also find our vendor profile, and our film of Nicolas & Joshua’s wedding at Villa Grabau, near Lucca, was featured in The Anti Bride.
Areas
Florence, Chianti, Val d’Orcia, Lucca and Cortona
As a Tuscany wedding photographer and videographer we work across the whole region, and every area has its own landscape and its own rhythm.
- Florence and its hills. Renaissance villas, frescoed halls and gardens above the city, a short drive from the center. See our page for weddings in Florence.
- Chianti. Wine estates, castles and cypress roads between Florence and Siena, with long dinners among the vines and country roads that are slower than they look on the map.
- Siena and the Val d’Orcia. Castles and borghi around Siena, like Castello di Celsa, and further south the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of rolling hills around Pienza and Montalcino. See our Siena wedding photographer page.
- Lucca. A walled city with tree-lined ramparts you can walk all the way around, surrounded by historic villas such as Villa Grabau, where we filmed Nicolas & Joshua’s wedding.
- Cortona and the Valdarno. Cortona, the hill town made famous by Under the Tuscan Sun, and the estates between Florence and Arezzo, like Il Borro.
Local knowledge
What we have learned in Tuscany
Tuscany is big, and every corner has its own rules. A few things we plan around at every Tuscan wedding.
- Distances. Venues an hour apart feel like different countries, and country roads are slow. We count the minutes between hotels, church and venue before anything else.
- White roads. Some estates are reached by gravel roads that large coaches cannot climb, so shuttles and timings need planning.
- The heat. Inland Tuscany is very warm in July and August. Ceremonies at six or later, shade and water for guests, and portraits in the last hour of light.
- Private land. Many of the most famous views are on private farms. We photograph them from public roads or with permission.
- The seasons. Poppies and green hills in May, golden fields in summer, the grape harvest and mist in September and October. Tuscany is the most popular region in Italy for foreign couples, so the best estates book early.

The weekend
Your Tuscan wedding weekend
A Tuscan wedding is rarely a single day. It is a weekend of moments: a welcome dinner among the vineyards, a rehearsal under the cypress trees, the ceremony, the dinner, the dancing, and a farewell brunch with the people you love. We follow the whole story, with films and photography crafted by a single team and one coherent signature. Discover our wedding collections.
