Couples often ask us how to plan a luxury wedding in Rome without spending the whole weekend stuck in traffic. Tania & Valentin's answer was simple, and very elegant: two addresses, two days, almost no time in a car.
Day one: the Bulgari Hotel Roma
The Bulgari Hotel Roma opened in 2023 on Piazza Augusto Imperatore, in a 1930s building facing the Mausoleum of Augustus. From the terrace you see domes and bell towers in every direction. Inside it's warm wood, leather and marble, with the Maison's history on the walls.
Tania stayed in the Presidential Suite, and that's where our weekend began: a white dress on its hanger, Bvlgari jewels laid out next to her shoes and bag, a framed "B" made entirely of watches. Details like these get lost in the rush of a wedding weekend, so we always ask for a quiet half hour to photograph them before anyone gets dressed.

On the terrace there's a golden ring swing with the Bvlgari name on top. The moment we saw it we knew it would be Tania's portrait: Rome behind her, the light going soft, ten minutes and done.
The welcome dinner
The evening moved between the library and the bar of the hotel. A bartender stirring Negronis, friends arriving from different countries, nobody in a hurry. At a welcome dinner I like to work lightly: fewer posed pictures, more of the conversations, because that's what the couple will want to remember.

Day two: getting ready
The next morning the suite turned into the bride's dressing room. A magnum of Bollinger, make-up in a leather armchair, earrings, a silk robe with lace cuffs. Getting ready in the same place where you spent the night before makes a real difference: the bride is relaxed, she knows the light, and it shows in the photographs.

Villa Miani
The wedding itself was at Villa Miani, on Monte Mario, the highest hill in Rome. From the terrace the whole city opens up in front of you, with the dome of St. Peter's almost at eye level. Inside, Tania wore a strapless gown and a cathedral veil in a grotto room painted with vines, birds and classical statues. It's one of the most unusual rooms I know in Rome, and one of the most beautiful.

Why a two-venue luxury wedding works so well in Rome
- Your guests see two sides of the city: the historic center on the first night, the panorama on the wedding day.
- A hotel like the Bulgari can host the bride's preparations, which keeps the wedding morning calm.
- Monte Mario is around twenty minutes by car from Piazza Augusto Imperatore outside rush hour, so shuttles are easy to organize.
- Ask both venues early about photography in shared areas. Hotels are usually generous, but they like to know in advance.
Tania & Valentin kindly let us share part of their weekend, and we're grateful for it. You can see more in their story. If you're planning a luxury wedding in Rome, write to us: Rome is home, and we know its venues well.
