Florence

Wedding photography and film in Florence

Florence is a city you can walk across in half an hour, and yet every street seems to hold another chapel, another courtyard, another view of the dome. Just outside it, the hills are dotted with Renaissance villas, cypress avenues and gardens that were made for long summer evenings. For a Florence wedding photographer, it is hard to imagine a richer setting.

Cinemotions Films is a luxury wedding photography and film studio founded by Luca Cristofari. We photograph and film weddings in Florence and the surrounding hills for couples from all over the world, from intimate ceremonies in the city to three-day celebrations in a private villa. We accept a limited number of weddings each year, and the founder is personally present at every celebration.

Photography

A Florence wedding photographer with a classical eye

Photography comes first in everything we do. Florence asks for elegance more than effects: frescoed rooms where the light comes in from tall windows, stone staircases, gardens with a view of the hills. We work quietly, with very little posing, and we plan portraits for the hours when the city and the countryside are at their softest.

Film

Cinematic wedding films in Florence

Our films are built like short pieces of cinema, with sound, rhythm and the voices of the people you love: the vows in the garden, the speeches at dinner, the first notes of the party. Many couples choose photography and film together, so that one team tells the whole story with a single signature.

The venues

Villas, palazzi and the hills around Florence

We have photographed and filmed at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte, a Renaissance villa among vineyards and olive groves, where we also flew an FPV drone for Jenna & Jameson’s trailer, and at a welcome dinner above the rooftops of Florence. We are happy to work anywhere in and around the city: the palazzi of the center, the villas of Fiesole and the estates of Chianti, and an hour away, Il Borro in the Valdarno.

A few practical notes: the historic center is a limited traffic zone, so cars and shuttles need planning, and the most famous squares are calmer early in the morning. For the countryside around the city, see also our page on weddings in Tuscany and our guide to Tuscany wedding venues.

Questions

Florence wedding photographer: your questions

A few answers for couples planning a wedding in Florence.

Do you photograph weddings in Florence and the surrounding hills?

Yes. We photograph and film weddings in the center of Florence, in Fiesole and in the villas of the Florentine hills, as well as across Tuscany, Italy and Europe.

Where can we have a civil ceremony in Florence?

Civil ceremonies in Florence are usually held in the historic rooms of Palazzo Vecchio, and many villas around the city are also authorized by their local town hall. Your planner can tell you which venues are recognized for a legal ceremony.

Can you photograph us around Florence before or after the wedding?

Yes, and we love it. Early morning is the best time for the city: the streets are almost empty and the light on the stone is soft. We plan a route that fits your schedule and avoids the busiest hours.

Can you cover the welcome dinner and the whole weekend?

Of course. Many of our Florence weddings last two or three days, and we can tell all of it, from the welcome dinner on a terrace above the rooftops to the farewell brunch.

How much does a wedding photographer in Florence cost?

Every proposal is bespoke and depends on the days, the hours and whether you would like photography, film or both. Once we know your plans, we will send you a tailored proposal. You can read how we work in our investment guide.
